Each week adults bring their children for a 30 minute session of music and movement. mainly music has been specifically set-up so big people can spend precious time ‘with their little people’. A homemade morning tea is provided for the Mums. Made by our church members.
A special children’s morning tea is also provided. We then provide a time of free play either inside or outside. Held on Thursdays 9.30am, followed by morning tea, then a second session at 10.30am, in the Café area. For more about Mainly Music click here
Pre-wired is for 2-4 year olds. The program includes short stories, songs and a story related craft. Pre-wired is held in the lounge room, and is open from 10.00 am. However the program does not start until Wired starts. At the same time, a toy area is set up for under twos.
Originally the program was started so mums and dads could focus on enjoying the service. However, as the children become involved in age appropriate activities and stories, the group has really grown. Our kids have really embraced the program and seem to look forward to joining us in the lounge.
Currently we have three leaders with two helpers, each leader runs two sessions every six weeks. This works really well for our current numbers. However as the group grows we always welcome any new helpers or people interested in joining our ministry for this age group.
If you have any questions, suggestions or wish to join us on Sunday we’d love to talk to you. See me on Sunday or phone Kim 5737189. To find out more about Pre-Wired click here
Wired is a program for children throughout the Sunday service at The Orchard. A typical program would include: songs, games, prayers, bible story, and activities to help remember the lesson. Some of the activities we have had are: making a cross necklace, baking scones, dressing up Joseph in his colourful coat. Also the children are given a bible verse to take home and learn. There are prizes for those that regularly learn their bible verse. Each year during Term 4 the children put on a production for the parents showing what they have been learning. This would be practiced during our Wired program times, with possibly one dress rehearsal on the Saturday, before the production on the Sunday Morning. The children look forward to being involved in this. During the school holidays the WIRED leaders take a couple of Sunday’s break, but there is still something organized for the children on those days. WIRED starts again on the Sunday prior to school beginning for that term.
